About me
James Bowling is a Cloud Solutions Architect/Engineer and technology enthusiast located in Dallas, TX with over 20 years experience. James has received the 2009 COMMON/IBM Power Systems Innovation Award for Energy Efficiency for his design and implementation of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Datacenter in Arlington, TX. He is also an avid archlinux user, AUR package maintainer and advocate. James contributes documentation for a few open source projects and creates/maintains some packages for different Linux distros. James is also a Subject Matter Expert contributing to many VMware Certifications exams and blueprints.
James has experience with designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructures while utilizing different types of technology to achieve flexible and fluid infrastructures. He is currently Principal Cloud Engineer for a global oil & gas drilling company.
James spends his personal time being a father, husband, and emergency services volunteer. He is a licensed Amateur Extra radio operator where he spends time with digital technologies and aiding the community when license radio operators are needed for natural disaster communications and Search-and-Rescue operations.
